Ensemble Salomone Rossi
Jewish tradition and Christianity in music
Nicolò Balducci, countertenor – Angelica Disanto, soprano
Sacred cantatas, Psalms, and music from Oratorios for two or more voices, from the 17th and 18th century repertoire, with singers and instruments.
Jewish and Christian sacred music for voices and instruments: two traditions in comparison, which intertwine and inspire each other, as in Salomone Rossi, Benedetto Marcello and C.G. Lidarti.
Instrumental music by composers such as Handel and Locatelli, who admired and knew the work of Benedetto Marcello, performed the Psalms in England, and spread knowledge in Holland.
We propose an intertwining of cultures, the union between Jewish tradition and music from the Western world, new musical horizons, new proposals.
For this program, the presence of a minimum of 3 to 10 singers and musicians is expected.
