Music and the Jewish People, second course – Academic year 2023-24

The traditional and popular music workshop for the year 2023 will be divided into four online meetings, according to the following calendar:

Thursday November 9th – 2.45pm-5.15pm Israel after 1948, interweaving of poetry and music

Thursday 16 November – 2.45pm-5.15pm Pop, rock and folk music in Israel

Thursday 23 November – 2.45pm-5.15pm The success of the Mizrahi tradition in Israel

Thursday 30 November – 2.45pm-5.15pm Musicians and the Jewish world in the diaspora from the 19th to the 21st centuries

The Post-Graduate Higher Education Course in Jewish Studies is located in the field of linguistic and cultural mediation, and was created with the aim of providing knowledge and skills relating to the Jewish language and culture. Due to the variety of topics covered and the tailor-made teaching method, non-graduates who are passionate about the subject and want to learn about the language, cultures and nuances of the Jewish world can also participate in the course. For all participants the educational project offers the acquisition of:

LANGUAGE SKILLS CULTURAL SKILLS

To achieve these objectives, the Course makes use of the collaboration of native speaking teachers, experts and teachers in both the linguistic and cultural fields, with the patronage of the Pedagogium University of Warsaw, the Institute of Technology Development of Canada, the Ulpan of Milan – School of Hebrew language, history and thought – and of the Italian Association of Friends of the University of Jerusalem.
