An Evening of Psalms at Palazzo Giustiniani
Instrumental chamber music and Psalms by Benedetto Marcello, marking 300 years since the edtion of Estro poetico-armonico (1724–1728)
The program features arias from Benedetto Marcello’s Psalms alternating with instrumental music by various composers (Felice Evaristo Dall’Abaco, Tommaso Albinoni, Antonio Vivaldi, and Francesco Gasparini), following the format used in the musical entertainments of the Venetian nobles and Academies.
L’Estro poetico armonico is still considered one of the greatest masterpieces of eighteenth-century sacred music, a work that engages in dialogue with the diverse cultures of the Mediterranean and Europe. In his compositions, Benedetto Marcello weaves together the heritage and values of Jewish, classical, and Christian culture into a single artistic synthesis.

In collaboration with the Odhecaton vocal ensemble.
Arias from the Psalms by Benedetto Marcello interspersed with instrumental music by various authors (Giuseppe Tartini, Tommaso Albinoni, Antonio Vivaldi, Felice Evaristo Dall’Abaco and Francesco Gasparini), according to the habits used in the musical Entertainments of the Venetian nobles and Academies.
With the participation of ten singers, vocal conductor and six instrumentalists.
2 Instrumental music and Psalms for many voices by Benedetto Marcello
Arias from the Psalms by Benedetto Marcello interspersed with instrumental music by various authors (Giuseppe Tartini, Tommaso Albinoni, Antonio Vivaldi, Felice Evaristo Dall’Abaco and Francesco Gasparini), according to the habits used in the musical entertainments of the Venetian nobles and Academies.
With the participation of a solo singer and six instrumentalists.

Recording project
The Benedetto Marcello Project includes the Ensemble recording the Psalms of Benedetto Marcello’s L’Estro poetico armonico.
In August 2026 the third CD Psalm XVII was released, recorded by the Ensemble Salomone Rossi and Odhecaton vocal ensemble, published by Brilliant Classics.
Nel gennaio 2021 è uscito il CD “Benedetto Marcello Psalms and Sonatas”, realizzato con l’Ensemble Salomone Rossi, pubblicato da Dynamics.
Nel 2018 è uscito il CD “Salmi e Sonate di Benedetto Marcello” realizzato con l’Ensemble Salomone Rossi e edito da Concerto Classic.
Il progetto prevede altre tre registrazioni, di prossima realizzazione.
Entrambi i CD sono stati presentati in molti programmi radiofonici nazionali ed esteri, oltre ad ottenere ottime recensioni di stampa.
