Born in Bergamo in 1992 into a family of musicians, the Italian-French cellist Thomas Chigioni completed his studies at the conservatories of Milan, Bergamo, and the prestigious Schola Cantorum Basiliensis; obtaining two diplomas in cello and two in baroque cello. He has attended masterclasses and courses held by important teachers, and collaborates with internationally renowned groups. He conducts the Ensemble Locatelli, a baroque orchestra based in Bergamo, which he founded in 2014, for which he also curates a concert series dedicated to ancient music in his city. He has recorded for Warner, Panclassics, Amadeus, Glossa, Pentatone, DaVinci, Novantiqua and for Classicadalvivo.
